Drawing Sketchbooks

Whenever I see sketchbooks, I have to stop and look through them. It wouldn’t matter if I had fifty of them at home, ready and waiting. I would still have to look! There is something about thumbing though those hundreds of blank pages that just make my heart sing. I am reminded of a dream I had once where I was presented with a book. And I was told that in this book, was the secret and meaning to life. I opened it…rather, hesitantly…

And the entire thing was blank.

Read into that however you’d like. 😀

Product: Watson Guptill Sketchbook

Dimensions: 8.5″ X 11″

Pages: 176

Price: $5

Best Place to Buy: Amazon

This is just your classic black sketchbook. Perfect for any artist. And you can’t beat this price. I have gone to Michaels or regular art stores and never have I seen a sketchbook as low as this. If you have a coupon, maybe you can get one at Michaels for $6-7. Walmart might have them somewhat low, but the quality is not as good.

Product: VERY Big Sketchbook

Dimensions: 12.5 x 4 x 10.8 inches

Pages: 300

Price: Under $30

Best Place to Buy: Amazon

We ordered this sketchbook for our art loving daughter for Christmas one year. It. is. MASSIVE. It would have taken me forever to fill it up. However, my daughter, who would rather draw than eat or sleep, covered each of those 300 pages, front AND back, in no time flat (it still took her at least a month though). I have not seen this size in any store.

Product: 101 Daily Journal Prompts

Dimensions: 6 x 0.2 x 9 inches

Price: $7

Best Place to Buy: Amazon

I have not had this sketchbook but it’s the type of thing I would be thumbing through in the store. I love looking at drawing prompts. And this one seems reasonable in size and price. If you need a nudge in your inspiration, perhaps you would prefer a drawing prompt sketchbook.

(Or just be like me and spend hours in the bookstore reading them and giggling while everyone gives you strange looks.)
